Kenneth Tramadeo Obituary

Kenneth V. Tramadeo, 71, of Windham, formerly of Newington, died in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his beloved family on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Born in Hartford, son of the late Paul and Tina (Cannarella) Tramadeo, he lived in Newington before fulfilling his dream of becoming a gentleman farmer ten years ago when he purchased his farm in Windham. Ken attended Newington schools and graduated from Newington High School in 1966. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran, and served tours in the Philippines and Viet Nam with a helicopter squadron, prior to his honorable discharge. After 26 years, he retired from the Newington Police Department as a Master Police Officer in the Detective Division and Accident Investigations. After retiring, he was employed as an investigator for the Public Defender's Office in the New Britain Court System for ten years. His passion for farming also lead his family and friends to experience the beauty of the "Quiet Corner". Kenny loved auctions and flea markets. His generous spirit and big heart was known by his family, friends and the community. He is survived by his devoted family: His brother and sister-in-law Ron and Elizabeth Tramadeo; sisters, Paula Tramadeo Siegel and her husband Drew, and Lisa Tramadeo Salonia and her husband James, all of Newington; his former wife and loving friend, Glenda McKinley of Newington, and her daughter Carrie-Anne Palmeri; nieces and nephews, Susan Tramadeo Stolarczyk and husband Jeremy, Paul Tramadeo and wife Melissa, Jennifer Salonia and fiancé Krzysztof Truba, Laura Salonia Godden and husband Rob, Ross Salonia and wife Katie, Kathryn Hoover and husband Ben, Andrea Ruby and wife Sarah, Brian Siegel, and David Siegel; and great nieces and great nephews Alex, Luca, Keira and James. He also leaves his aunt and uncle, Mary and Matt Guasta of East Hartford; and many cousins, especially his "farmer" cousins Jake and Joanne Stevenson of Ashford; his second family, Jack and Kathy Morgan of Newington, and their family; and, of course, his loyal pets, Molly Bird and his lab, Sally. He continued to enjoy the precious relationships that he made with his fellow police officers throughout the years. His funeral service will begin directly at the church, with a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church St., Newington. He will be laid to rest with military honors in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 11, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Per Ken's request, these are only the Cliff Notes! Memorial donations may be made to the Peter J. Lavery Scholarship Fund, P.O. To the Tramadeo Family,
Very sad. my deepest condolences.
We go back to kindergarten days at Southeast, not sure of its name now.
He was one of those childhood friends one always remembers.
1st motorcycle I ever drove was Kennys Honda Cub or Dream, cant recall what it was, up on what I believe was Kitts Lane.
Those were good times, normal times. We were all fortunate.
I knew Ken was in Windam after I relocated to Coventry from Fl in 2002 as I ran into him at a NHS Reunion and it was then he filled me in on the Gentleman Farmer gig he was enjoying as he talked about it with enthusiasm.
We had similar paths in life.NHS, Military and then a Career. His path was cut way too short and so saddened to hear that today from my brother.
The Tramadeo Family,Newington PD and all that knew him and those that loved him have lost a true friend and gentleman.
Last of the good guys.
To all so sorry for your loss
And yes "Tuna" there is a farm in heaven.
