Albert Halberstadt Obituary

Albert "Al" G. Halberstadt, age 86, of Windsor Locks/Windsor and The Villages, FL, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Al enjoyed making People Laugh. He was known to put a smile on people's faces and will be dearly missed. Betty and Al loved their many travels and their time at the Villages in Florida. Al was an avid reader, loved following his NY Sports teams and golfing. But most of all loved his family and friends. Al was born on September 7, 1933 in the Bronx, N.Y. to Albert G. and Katharine Spelman Halberstadt. He graduated from Manhattan College in 1955 and worked for the Travelers Insurance Company for 31 years in the Group Department. On May 28, 1960 Al married Betty Gaconnier and together they raised two children, Albert and Betty Jo. Al was preceded in death by his father, Albert and his mother, Katharine. He is survived and will be missed by his wife Betty of 59 years, his son Albert IV, his daughter Betty Jo and her husband Bill Davis, his sister Janice Sheridan and many nieces and nephews. Thank you to staff at Windsor Health and Rehab and the Villages at Buckland for taking good care of Al. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 22 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, October 23 at Mary, Gate of Heaven Parish, St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 South Elm St. Windsor Locks. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity. For online condolences please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
