Joseph E. "Jody" Barrett

Joseph E. "Jody" Barrett, 50, beloved husband of Karen (Pansullo) Barrett, died suddenly, Monday (September 15, 2003) at home. He was born December 1, 1952 in Hartford and was the son of the late Joseph E. and Margaret (Clark) Barrett. Jody was a graduate of Penney High School and Boston College. He was a US Army, Viet Nam veteran. Jody was a teacher at East Hartford High School for over 20 years. He was a communicant of St. Christopher's Church and a lifelong resident of East Hartford. He was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Brendan; a daughter, Heather; a brother and wife, James J. and Shirley Barrett of Storrs; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of long time friends who will miss him very much. He was predeceased by a daughter, Bridie Day, a sister, Mary Ann Smith and a brother, Michael Barrett. Funeral Service will be Friday, 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher's Church, East Hartford. The burial will be in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford, with full Military Honors. Calling hours are TODAY from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
