Robert Eichler Obituary

Robert F. Eichler, 49, of East Hartford, died Sunday, (November 25, 2001). He was born in Hartford on January 11, 1952, the son of Jack F. and Frances T. (Myer) Eichler, and was a lifelong resident of East Hartford. He was involved with many sports programs in the town of East Hartford, where he played football, and swam competitively at the Gold Star pool. He was an avid skier and a member of the East Hartford Ski Club and Boy Scouts of America. Bob was a graduate from the George J. Penney High School, attended Manchester Community College, and was employed at Pratt & Whitney for over 28 years. Besides his parents, Bob is survived by two very special daughters, Stephanie and Sara Eichler of East Hartford; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen and Josephine Eichler of Hebron, and John and Jackie-Lyn Eichler of East Hartford; also four nieces and two nephews, Jillian and Kevin Eichler of Hebron, Brianne and Erik Eichler of East Hartford, and Kelley and Erin Eichler of Cincinnati, OH. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 28, at 9:15 a.m. from the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., in St. Rose Catholic Church. Interment will be in Silver Lane Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, November 27, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends are respectfully requested to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hartford Hospital Connecticut Children's Medical Center; or American Lung Association.
