Dr. Mostel delivered my last 2 children. He was a wonderful. Doctor.
Years later we would see each other around Stamford and chat.
He insisted that I called him Arthur. He will be missed by many.

Read with sadness about Arthur’s passing in a recent Stamford Hospital Nursing Newsletter update that Betsy received.
Arthur had a wonderful personality and was nice to be around. He was a wonderful OBGYN M.D. and delivered our last two children shortly after we arrived in Stamford from our stint in the Air Force in the late 1960’s.
Betsy, who worked at the Harry Bennet Library branch in Stamford saw him and they spoke often: He was a big reader and a friendly person.
His memory and efforts on behalf of his patients’ and our community are a blessing to all who knew him.

Carolyn, Jeff, Samantha, Sydney and Emily; heartfelt condolences go out to you. From the 1st time that I had met Arthur(and he would always tell me to call him that) to drive him to W. Hart we hit it off. From his love to his wife, to his poker game with his friends in Stamford. We talked about anything and everything, nothing was off limits. I think on the 1st trip that I found out his profession, we had a common bond, since my wife was in OB/Gyn field for close to 40yrs at that time. With his wifes illness and her name being the same as my grandmother, it was a little eery, for my grandmother had died of the same illness. Nevertheless he was always upbeat and positive, and emotional as events would pass thru his mind. Would would talk about childhood life, family, and how he was trying to track down his ancestry, quite fascinating. He was very special to me and it was always a joy to know I would be getting him to come to W. Hart for holidays and events and to see what we would talk about on the ride.
Sincerely, Jay Aforismo

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Dr. Mostel was the best OB/GYN in Stamford!
