PRYSHLAK, Alexander
Alexander Pryshlak, 86, of Wethersfield, husband of Anna (Greskiw) Pryshlak, passed away Thursday, (July 21, 2011) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Zastawcze, Ukraine, he was the son of Petro and Olha (Diduryk) Pryshlak and lived in Ohio for one year, Hartford for 17 years, moving to Wethersfield 42 years ago. He was employed as a mechanical engineer at Pratt & Whitney Machine Tool Co. in West Hartford and subsequently as chief engineer at Pneumo Precision in Keene, NH retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of the Ukrainian Army. Alexander was a member of the Ukrainian Engineers Society, Shevchenko Scientific Society, Ukrainian Patriarchal Society, USA of which he was chairman for 22 years, the World Patriarchal Society and St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church where he was the choir director for 50 years. Besides his devoted wife of 63 years, Anna, Alexander is survived by two cherished daughters, Isha Pryshlak of Wethersfield and Marta Mostovych and her husband Andrew of Silver Spring, MD; two beloved grandchildren, Nadia K. Mostovych and Nicholas A. Mostovych. He was predeceased by a son Andrij and a brother Peter.
The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 Wethersfield Avenue, Hartford. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Glastonbury. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Panakhyda service at 7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Memorial contributions in Mr. Pryshlak's name may be made to the Ukrainian Catholic Education Foundation (Ukrainian Catholic University), 2247 W.
