David L. Weil Obituary
David L. Weil, D.D.S. passed away on September 7, 2018 at the age of 74. He lived life his way and left in peace. David was born in Hartford, CT on April 6, 1944 and grew up in West Hartford. He is a proud graduate of Conard High School, Adelphi University and NYU Dental School. David treasured his community and contributed to several causes near and dear. When out and about with David, odds were you would bump into several friends or patients, all eager to give Dr. Weil a hug and say hello. David, after having cancer touch several in his family, was always thinking of others and reaching out to families affected by cancer or other illnesses to offer his support and an empathetic ear. An avid golfer, David loved playing at Farmington Woods with neighbors and friends, but also was grateful to have played at many courses around the world. He also treasured outings to championship courses with his father, Gersh Weil and friends Dennis Kantor and Bob Alexander and golf vacations with his special friend, Kathleen Woods. David was a committed volunteer at the Mission of Mercy. He was a longtime member of the CSDA, the Seattle Study Club, the Spear Group and the Shivas Irons Society. David particularly loved spending lots of time in Pittsburgh with his grandchildren. David is survived by his dear friend, Kathleen Woods, his daughter Marni (Weil) Pastor, her husband Jonathan and grandchildren Ellen (7) and William David Pastor (5), his brother Andrew E. Weil and his step mother, Jean Weil. He was predeceased by his wife Ellen Eisenberg Weil, his father Gershon Weil and his mother Evelyn Older Weil. The family would also like to offer special thanks and acknowledgement to Dr. Adam Silverman at St. Francis Hospital, Dr. Harriet Kluger at Smilow Cancer Center and the team at the Farmington Valley VNA Hospice Group. Per David's wishes, there will be no funeral or burial service. The family is encouraging those interested in honoring David to do so with a donation to one of the following causes: the Farmington Valley Visiting Nurses Association Hospice Care or the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale New Haven Health. A Celebration of David's Life will be held at a later date. Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center of Avon is handling arrangements. For condolences please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com
