Donald Heath Leber, 89, died at his home in Naples, FL following a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn (Jo), his two daughters, Cindy (Bill) and Barbara (Rob), his son Peter, and by his step family, Jeff (Dori), Lynne (Steve), Jan (Mark), and nineteen grandchildren. Don was pre-deceased by the first love of his life, Jan, and by his son, David and his parents, Dr. Charles and Louise Leber.Born in Trenton, NJ, Don was raised in Montclair, NJ, later graduating from Blair Academy and The College of Wooster. Always enthusiastic and ambitious, he led a successful career with Connecticut General Life Insurance Company, where he built a substantial business in Peoria, IL and Ridgewood, NJ, ending his career as a Senior Vice President for CIGNA Corporation in Hartford, CT maintaining lasting friendships with business colleagues.Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor to all he touched, the ultimate people person. He was a master storyteller and motivator, with an infectious sense of humor and a pleasure to be with. Don's strong faith and drive to give to the community guided him in his philanthropic ways. An enthusiastic golfer and an avid sports fan, he always followed his beloved New York Yankees and New England Patriots, often with a bet on the side. And he dearly loved Cape Cod, where he regaled guests and family with tours, tales and adventuresDon will be profoundly missed by his friends and family. His memory, his unbounded confidence and his zest for life will stay with each of them forever.A memorial service will be held at The First Congregational Church of Yarmouth, 329 Main Street, Yarmouth Port, MA on Saturday, January 19th at 1:00pm.
