Elizabeth G. "Betty" Rykhof Obituary
Miss Elizabeth G. Rykhof was born on June 24, 1961 to Florence Claire Martel and Albert Rykhof (Rijkhoff) II in Hartford Connecticut, died of unnatural causes sometime in late August of 2017 in Bloomfield CT. She was 56 years of age at the time of her unknown passing. Elizabeth, also known as "Betty" to most everyone, enjoyed her early years growing up in Hartford CT while attending Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School until her family moved to Bloomfield CT in 1973. In Bloomfield, Betty befriended everyone that met her in town making numerous friendships that would last over the course of her entire life. Betty had a passion for fashion, so after graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1979, Betty went on to graduate from Bauder Fashion College in Miami FL, and Brio Academy of Hairdressing & Cosmetology in Hartford CT acquiring certificates from both schools to work in the profession she was passionate about. After working several years for other salons, Betty started working on her own as a cosmetologist and permanent makeup artist throughout Connecticut, New York, and the New England area. Throughout Betty's work life, she was ambitious and admired for being a talented and tenacious proprietor. In addition to working in the fashion and beauty industry, Betty also worked throughout the years for several restaurants in Connecticut where she would always greet you with her genuine smile. When Betty wasn't busy working, being a mom, being a friend, being a daughter, being a sister, being a partner, she enjoyed traveling and vacationing with her daughter in Maine, cooking, laughing, and spending time with her dear friends. Throughout her life Betty stamped her unforgettable smile and sincere charm on anyone who came in contact with her. She was an exemplified beauty with grace, goodness, along with a playful sense of humor, living her life as she best knew. She was unforgettably a real people person who was always kind and willing to go out of her way to be a friend, share a smile, and extend her generous heart to anyone. Betty loved her family and was preceded in death by her grandmothers Grace Michaud of ME, and Rosalina Wilhemina Van Berkel Bijk of the Netherlands; her grandfathers Edmond Martel of ME, and Albert Rijkhoff I of the Netherlands; her aunts Doreen Martel, and June Martel of ME; her aunt Wilhemina Don Griot, and uncle Robert Don Griot of the Netherlands.
