Harriet E. Gunther Obituary
Harriet E. Gunther, 92, of Rockville, CT, wife of the late Russell C. Gunther, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late Harry and Genevieve (Cullen) Ertel. Harriet had worked as a registered nurse at Rockville Hospital prior to assisting her husband running the family's dairy farm and raising her family. Hobbies that she enjoyed were reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting, and bowling. Her life's passion was her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Bernard Church. Harriet is survived by her six children and their spouses, Ellen and Thomas Rodzen of Enfield, CT, Jean and Marc Nemeth of Berlin, CT, Charles and Kelley Gunther of Vernon, CT, Doris and Mark Ostrowski of Tolland, CT, Patricia and Mark Auclair of Tolland, CT, and Frederick and Jayne Gunther of Vernon, CT; ten grandchildren, Miriam, Amelia, and Haley Nemeth, Justin Rodzen and his wife Lilly, Zachary, Caleb, and Jacob Auclair, and Russell, Michelle, and Alyssa Gunther; sister-in-law, Dorothy G. Dimmock; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Barbara Costa, Katharine Ertel, and Faith Yarusewicz. Her funeral will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019, with a procession forming by 9:45 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, CT. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville, CT. Calling hours are on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
