It's many years since the passing of Professor Lang, but I felt compelled to find her obituary again today after seeing some great professors of the past at Trinity. I would like to say that Professor Lang was one of the toughest professors from whom I had the pleasure to learn. In my first class with her, Helen gave me a score of 30 on a paper I had written! I hadn't put any effort in and Professor Lang called me on it. I immediately went back to my dorm, read one of her books cover to cover and made sure to disagree with everything she had written on my next paper.
Well, fast forward to a week or two later when she called me back to her office having given everyone but me a graded paper back. I sat in her office (terrified) where we proceeded to have an hour long talk about Aristotle, Neo-Platonist thought and Greek mythology. What a wonderful person and a brilliant mind. I took several other classes with her until I graduated.
She will be missed...

I was so sorry to hear about Helen's death.
I knew Helen at Trinity College a long time ago when I was an adjunct instructor in the Modern Languages Department. She was wonderful and I know that my late husband Ken was very fond of her and considered her a great scholar.

My sincerest condolences to all friends and family of Helen Lang. I would not have made it through Trinity College without her; I took as many classes with her as I could and loved every one of them. May he memory be a blessing. Michael Chazan
