John J. "Joe" Rusconi Obituary
John (Joe) Rusconi, age 90 of Durham, loving husband of Jane Bartolotta Rusconi passed away after a short illness. He was the son of the late Frank & Mary Rusconi and leaves three children, Chris Rusconi of Guilford, Michael Rusconi of Maryland, and Terri Coleman of Middletown. He also leaves a brother, Frank, and four grandchildren, Nicole, Caitlin and Michael of Phoenix, Angela of North Carolina and two great grandchildren in Phoenix also. He was part of a group of senior boys from Middletown High School who enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1946. Upon his return from the service, he was scoutmaster for Troop 10 at St. John's church. He was also an electrician for Local 35 for many years and a member of St. Mary's church, the Middlesex YMCA and the Elks lodge. He was also a sports enthusiast, playing and managing a hockey group, first at Choate and then at Wesleyan. He also played slow pitch softball in Durham, handball at the YMCA, where he was a fifty-year member and bicycled with his daughter on weekends well into his eighties. He took great delight in his vegetable and flower garden and enjoyed fishing in his Boston Whaler, crabbing and clamming. He and his wife were also very fortunate to spend winter months in Puerto Rico and travel around the USA and overseas. Our grateful thanks to Doctor Michael Good and the nurses and staff at the Middlesex Hospital Hospice Center. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the D'Angelo Funeral Home with visiting hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday August 23rd followed by a mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church in Middletown at 10 a.m. on Friday August 24th. Burial will be private in accordance with the family's wishes. Anyone wishing to make a donation in his memory, can donate to the Middlesex YMCA, 99 Union St. Middletown, Ct. or the .
