Joseph "Smokey" Aukstolis, 80 of South Windsor, passed from this life on Friday, (Ju]y 19, 2002) at the Veterans Home and Hospital in Rocky Hill after an extended illness. Smokey was born in South Windsor the son of Martin and Margaret (Mulka) Aukstolis and had lived in the community most of his life. Smokey was a proud U.S.Army veteran of World War II and had served with the paratroopers. He was the owner of Smokeys Fuel Oil of East Hartford and Smokey's Minor Home Repair of South Windsor. He was the past president of the Kiwanis Club of East Hartford and had belonged to the East Hartford Board of Trade. Smokey is survived by his brother, Stanley Aukstolis of East Hartford; and by his niece, Margaret Wainikiewicz of South Windsor. A Gravesite funeral Service with military honors will be held on Friday, July 26, at 10 a.m. at the Col. Raymond Gates Cemetery, Rocky Hill. Friends may call at the Callahan Funeral Home, 1602 Main St. on Thursday from 5 -7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of memorial donations in Smokey's name to the charity of the donors' choice,
