Sonny was the loving husband of the late Maureen "Dolly" (O'Brien) Gammo. Born in Hartford on April 10, 1942, the only child of the late Joseph N. and Lucy (Peruccio) Gammo, Sr., he had been a resident of East Hartford for many years and Colchester for over 30 years prior to living in New Britain for the past four years. During his professional career, Sonny was a Salesman and was self-employed in silk-screening, especially shirts. A talented duck-pin bowler, he participated in several area leagues, and was a successful pitcher for the East Hartford Dovelettes fast-pitch softball team. Sonny loved the New York Yankees and cherished his time with family and friends. Sonny is survived by an aunt, Pauline Cline of East Hartford; several special cousins and their children who affectionately called him "Uncle Sonny"; and many dear friends.
