Marion M. (Garthwait) Passon, 84, of East Hartford died Monday, (January 27, 2003) at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. She was the widow of James W. Passon, Sr. She was born in Wisconsin and lived in the area for many years. She was a member of First Congregational Church in East Hartford. Mrs. Passon was very active at Riverside Health Center in East Hartford where she was not only a resident but also a volunteer where she helped residents with many arts and crafts projects. She is survived by a son, James W. Passon, Jr. of Caribou, ME; a daughter-in-law, Ruby Passon of East Hartford; her grandchildren, Robert and his wife Terri Passon serving with the U.S. Coast Guard in Detroit, MI, John and his wife Katherine Passon of Coventry, and James W. Passon, III of Hutchinson, KS. She also leaves her niece, Marcie Aimci of Winfield, IL; her two nephews, Eugene Garthwait of Daphne, AL and Warren Garthwait, Jr. of Wisconsin; and a friend, Anita Burby of Caribou, ME. Calling hours will be Thursday, January 30, from 5-7 p.m. at the Callahan Funeral Home, 1602 Main Street, East Hartford followed by a Funeral Service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Theodore H. Mosebach, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
