Mary (Collins) Comstock of Manchester died quietly on Thursday, September 20, 2018), at the Evergreen Healthcare Center in Stafford Springs. She was born on November 11, 1926 in Hartford to John and Muriah Collins, graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1944, and married Donald C. Comstock, Jr. in the post-war era. She is survived by her granddaughter Melissa Reutter, five great grandchildren, Dylan, Sunny, Bryce, Kara and Mason, all of Stafford, granddaughter Chelsea L. Stinson of Virginia, nieces and nephews, John, Tom and Susan Collins, John and Kerry Murphy, Elizabeth Linthicum, and Bruce, Brian and Chester Sperre. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald, her two children Cynthia and Chris Comstock and her brothers and sisters, John, Robert, Rita and Eleanor. A loving wife and mother, Mary worked a variety of jobs, as a Summer Clerk at Hartford City Hall, Clerk for the Hartford BOE, Bookkeeper for Putnam & Co., Teacher Assistant, and Cashier at the Alcott Package Store on Center Street in Manchester. She also volunteered with the Manchester. Rockville PTA, helping with minutes, publicity and decorations. Along with her family, Mary loved antiquing and the search for a find. Services and burial are private. There are no calling hours. Introvigne Funeral Home, 51 E. Main Street, Stafford Springs, CT is in care of arrangements.
