WYCKO, Mary G. Mary (Gaska) Urban Wycko, 90, of Hartford, widow of John Urban and Benjamin S. Wycko, died Sunday, (August 8, 2004) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Utica, NY, daughter of the late Sebastian and Regina (Kociol) Gaska, who died in Siberia along with Mary's infant son, Chester Urban, Mary had lived in Poland and during World War II, was taken to Siberia and to Africa, coming to Hartford in 1947. Her first husband served in the Polish Cavalry and was killed in World War II. She was employed as a power press operator at the Royal Typewriter for many years. A communicant of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, a member of the Holy Rosary Society, Ladies Guild and Golden Seniors, at the church. She leaves her beloved daughter, Genevieve M. Urban of Hartford, with whom she made her home; a sister, Carol Murzyn of Wethersfield and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Saturday, August 14, 9:15 a.m., from the South Green Memorial Home, 43 Wethersfield Avenue, Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m., at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends Friday, August 13, from 5-8 p.m., at the South Green Memorial Home.
