Michael E. Halle

Michael Edward Halle, 64, of St. Augustine, FL (formerly of East Hartford and Moodus, CT) passed peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Michael was born in Rumford, Maine on April 1, 1951, the son of the late Paul E. and Madeleine (Charbonneau) Halle. He was predeceased by his son, Michael. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years Donna Lee (Miller) and his son, Edward. After graduating from Penney High School Class of 1970, he worked as an auto mechanic and later as a self-employed contractor specializing in tile and sheet rock installation. He was able to fix anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Michael enjoyed boating on Gardiner Lake with his family and cruising in his RV. He was a long-time member of the East Haddam Lion's Club and received the Melvin Jones Award for distinguished service. He was also an active member of the St. Augustine Elks Club. He is survived by his six sisters, Denise (Frank) Haas of West Hartford, CT; Susan (Courtney) LaRue of Crawfordville, FL; Elizabeth (Martial) LaRoche of Marlborough, CT; Therese (Dan) Anderson of Redmond, OR; Martine (AJ) Fusco of South Glastonbury, CT; and Celine (Steve) Pisch of Brewster, MA; two brothers Raymond (Joanne) Halle of Ellington, CT and Yvon (Frank) of St. Augustine, FL. He leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Services will be private.
