Obituary Condolences

BELLICO, Philip J. Philip J. Bellico, 101, of Windsor Locks, beloved widower of Sadie (Cannone) Bellico, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, (November 5, 2009) at The Suffield House, Suffield. Born July 27, 1908, in Hazardville, the son of the late Congetto and Concetta (Gelsomina) Bellico, Philip resided in Enfield until 2006 when he moved to Windsor Locks live with his daughter and son-in-law. Phil started his career in the restaurant industry at the Chef's Grille in Thompsonville, which later became the Mountain Laurel Restaurant. He went on to work at the Terrace Dining Room located at Bradley Int'l Airport and then the Aetna Insurance, Co. cafeteria which he retired from in 1973. Phil was a loving family man who was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed a very special relationship with his twin, Peter. Above all was his great love and devotion to his wife Sadie who he missed so very much. Phil had a great passion for cooking, tending to his vegetable garden and just sitting outside enjoying each beautiful day God had given him. He was a member of St. Patrick Church and had been an usher and ran the lift for many years. Phil is survived by his children, Philip Bellico and wife Sandra of Ormand Beach, FL, and Carol Bednarz and husband Tom of Windsor Locks; five grandchildren, Michael Bellico of VA, Cynthia Bellico of Enfield, Theresa Dumesnil of Enfield, Brian Bednarz of East Granby and Laura (Bednarz) Cabral of Bristol, RI; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica and Daniel Gillis, Michael and Nicholas Bellico, Andrew and Alex Dumesnil and Alexa Bednarz. He also leaves his brothers Peter and George Bellico both of Enfield and brother and sister-in-law Russell and Elaine Bellico of Agawam, MA, and many nieces and nephews. Phil was predeceased by his brother Joseph and sisters Rose Sullivan and Mary Locario. Philip's family would like to thank The Suffield House Staff for the excellent and loving care they gave Phil. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Philip's life will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2009, in St. Patrick Church, Enfield. There are no calling hours. Memorial Donations in Phil's memory may be made to St. Patrick Church, 64 High St., Enfield, CT 06082. Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels has been entrusted with the arrangements.
