Phyllis L. Niemiroski Obituary
Phyllis L. Niemiroski, 89, of Suffield, beloved wife of Joseph M. Niemiroski passed away Monday, January 7, 2019, with her loving family by her side. Born October 27, 1929 in Hartford, daughter of the late Santo and Marion (Stasko) Lanciano, she grew up in Hartford, lived in Windsor and Suffield and retired to Deltona, FL before moving back to Suffield. Phyllis worked many years for Aetna before retiring. She would come back to the work force and would work for Steeltech before retiring for good. Her faith and family were the two most important things in her life. She was a devout Catholic, an active and faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Suffield, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a prodigious and faithful grandmother to her three grandchildren, and was very involved in their lives, treating them as though they were her own children. Besides Joseph, her husband of 69 years, she is survived by a son, Joseph J. Niemiroski and his wife Annette of Holland, MA; two sisters, Anne Shortier and Patricia Pratt; three grandchildren, Laura Champagne, Kathryn Niemiroski and her husband, Adam Doherty, Joseph R. Niemiroski and his fiancé, Sarah Williams; two great grandchildren, Siena and Theodore. She was predeceased by two sisters, Catherine Murphy and Rose Chaplan. Her family will receive friends Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 9:30-10:30 AM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, Suffield. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities, 839 Asylum Ave., Hartford, CT 06105 or www.ccaoh.org. To leave on-line condolences, please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com.
