Mr. Sweet as we knew him taught Physics at East Hartford High school and was known as something of a character. We all thought he was mostly teaching us to finance his square dance addiction. That was probably true, but he truly taught understanding of the subject, and even a mundane question like "how does a hydraulic jack work?" would be met with an enthusiastic and detailed answer.

It's with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to Ralph. My sincerest sympathy to his family, I can assure you, he will be missed and thought of with genuine affection and admiration by more people than you can imagine.
One of my fondest memories of Ralph, was watching him calling the square dances on the green in Storrowtown Village during the Big E. He was so happy.
He also was incredibly generous with his wealth of information which he shared with us regarding flute making.
We will miss him.

My condolences to the family. My first music book was the Fifer's Delight. Years ago Ralph came to San Francisco and he played drum to my fife at Fort Point. I had him autograph my book. he was such a nice man.

Mr Sweet was my science teacher at Bolton High school. I admired him greatly. He once gave my 145 points on a 100 point science test.
He would award extra points if you added new information about a test question.
Today I am a Doctor in Southern Illinois.
Thank you Mr Sweet!
