Robert E. Jolin, 56, of Hartford was found at rest Friday, (October 26, 2001) at home. Born March 20, 1945 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. A son of Violette Marie Descheneaux and Edward Willard Jolin. Bob was educated in Woonsocket and graduated from Central High in Providence, RI and attended Roger Williams College, Bristol, RI and was a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam Era. He was employed as a medical technologist at John Dempsey Hospital, University of Connecticut. He also had been employed at William W. Backus Hospital, Norwich, CT, St. Josephs Hospital and Miriam Hospital both in Providence, RI. He was a founding member of the Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective (HGLHC) and have been recently the recipient of a special award by the organization. He was also active at St. Patricks-St. Anthony Church, Hartford and its AIDS Ministry. He is survived by his mother, Violette M. D. Savoie of Woonsocket, RI; his father and step-mother, Edward W. and Barbara A. Jolin of Warwick, RI; his brother, Ronald J. Jolin of Fall River, MA; and his sister, Lori-Ann Martin of Cranston, RI; a niece and nephew; three cousins; and many friends. Calling hours Monday 5-8 p.m. at the Gennaro J. Capobianco-Greater Hartford Funeral Home, 247 Washington St., Hartford. Funeral Tuesday, 9 a.m. at the funeral home with a 9:30 a.m. funeral procession to St. Patricks-St. Anthony Church, corner of Church and Ann St., Hartford for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in the Rhode Island Veteran Cemetery, Exeter, RI with full military honors. Expressions of sympathy may be made to HGLHC, P.O.
