Roselle DeCarli Obituary

Roselle DeCarli, 72, of Ellington, died Wednesday, (January 23, 2002) at her home. She was the wife of 53 years of Leonard DeCarli. Born in Ann Arbor, MI, daughter of the late Rev. Allison and Viola (Knott) Heaps, she was raised in Springfield, MA and Somers. Roselle had lived in Rockville for many years before retiring to Crystal Lake. She was an active member of Union Congregational Church, participating in the music program in the choir, bell choir, playing the piano and organ and serving as a Bethel teacher. She was also a foster mother and volunteer at Rockville General Hospital. Besides her husband, she leaves her children and their spouses, Leonard and Sandra Decarli of Taunton, MA, Joy and George Cunningham of North Haven, Larry and Andrea DeCarli of South Windsor, Kim Grotheer of Stafford Springs and Paul and Dorine DeCarli of Vernon; 12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26, 10 a.m. in Union Congregational Church, 3 Elm St., Rockville. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Union Congregational Church, Music Fund or to: DeQuattro Cancer Center, Manchester Memorial Hospital, 73 Haynes St., Manchester, CT 06040. Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, Vernon, has care of the arrangements.
