A few days late, but Dr B has been on my mind for the last week knowing that is the 5 th anniversary of his passing.Dr B, your passing was such a huge loss for many. I´m hoping you´re up there rocking Heaven with my beloved, Rich. Lost him a few moths after we all ( the Klett family) lost you. I am so sad to hear this news from one of my patients today. I worked in santos office on wednesdays from 2016-2019. In my 14 years of nursing I never met a doctor who was so beloved by his patients. Dr buccheri was so helpful and wonderful to me, always helping when I had my own illnesses or injuries and checking up on me after. He was truly a great doctor, proud father, and exceptional son. I am deeply sorry for your family’s loss.

In loving memory of Dr Santo Buccheri I extend my personal prayer and sympathy to your Family. He often expressed his family was his greatest blessing. Dr Buccheri always made time for me as a patient and recognized my work as a nurse who worked in long term care. He always made sure my daughter could be seen when home on college breaks. He was truly an angel on earth!

I am so saddened to hear of Santos passing. I had the most pleasurable honor of knowing both Santos and Louise when I lived in Connecticut and worked with them both at St. Francis Hospital. We became friends and they invited me to share in the celebration of their marriage and then the christening of their eldest son. Santos was always such a kind soul and yes he truly did care about people and most definitely his patients. The Hartford and Wethersfield community has suffered a great loss. My condolences and love to all of you and especially to you Loiuse and your children.

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this message having known Dr. Buccheri for 30 years ....he was my doctor who always knew what to say no matter the problem! Many times it was more than just my physical health but mental as well....we spoke of world situations ....my issues & he always mentioned his loving family! Although I have never met them I feel that I know them! He mentioned the shows his daughter performed in...his son who called him at 4:00 in morning while he was shaving to discuss his course work in Med school ....his wife & daughter traveling together...& of course his loving parents!! He was a truly special person who made the world a better person by his very presence! There was a time that he had forgotten to take “the boys” to be groomed ∵ I was going through Wethersfield on my way home, I offered to take them! He thanked me but just said no! I think those dogs just loved him as much as we all did !! He always told me to call if I needed him & just knowing he was there was a comfort I probably will never find in another doctor! I have been very saddened by his death but words cannot say how much he meant to all who knew & loved him! I truly believe that he continues to make a difference in his new “home” !

My mother had been a patient of Dr. Buccheri's for the last 20 years. We just learned of his passing today after having received a letter from his office. To say we are devastated is an understatement. I know I can speak for my mother when I say we didn't just see him as a physician; we saw him as a friend. He was one of a kind, always ready with a joke or a kind word to allay any worries we had in regard to my mother's health. The last we saw him was this past April, over a virtual doctor's appointment, and I recall him teasing me because I tried to stay out of view when my mother was chatting with him, and ending the appointment by telling us both he looked forward to seeing us in person at my mother's next appointment... I wish I could tell him how much he meant to me and my mother, and thank him for being such a good doctor and friend to the both of us. God bless his family and his beautiful pups. Please know we are mourning with you.

My father, Hugo LaPenta, was Dr. Buccheri's teacher at Naylor School in Hartford. After falling and having surgery on his broken hip in 2007, he went to Ellis Manor - in the same neighborhood as Naylor School - for rehab and was cared for by Dr. Buccheri. Dr. Buccheri was such a competent and compassionate doctor, and it was very special to my dad when they talked about school days. Both of my parents became his patients after that. I am very sorry that the world lost such an exceptional person and doctor with so much more to give. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Santo was not only my physician, he was a great friend. I've known Santo since high school, and my wife went to Elementary school with Santo. His care for his patients was second to none. Patience, compassion, dedication, true concern for the health and well being of his patients, always. Santo cared for my father, and for me for the past 19 years. Throughout the years, although I was mostly sick when I visited his office, I enjoyed the time I was able to spend with him. I always knew he would have the knowledge and way of presenting to his patients care, concern and sincere wanting of them to be better. The many conversations about anything were never an intrusion on his time. Santo was a true gentleman, loving family man and lover of people (obviously born to healthcare).
Santo will forever be in my heart and is sorely missed. Until we meet again, Rest in Peace Dr. Buccheri.
Our deepest and sincere condolences to Louise, the kids, and Santo's entire family . Thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of grief.
Love you always, Brian & Johanna Dolge

Our sincerest condolences to Mrs Buccheri and your children. Dr Buccheri was our physician and he was the most caring sincerest Dr we ever had. I loved his little smile when he came into the room. He contracted this virus no doubt from caring for others. Coincidently our daughter in law took care of him during his last days at St. Francis. Our hearts are truly saddened and our thoughts and prayers go to the family.

To All the Buccheri Family,
We are so sorry for your loss.
We have many happy memories of visits with the Buccheri family in Australia in the 60s. We especially remember Santo as a young, friendly boy with a playful spirit and a strong desire to become a doctor.
We have not had the privilege of knowing Santo as an adult, but it is clear from the many heartfelt tributes shared by his loved ones, friends colleagues and patients that the world has prematurely lost a brave, very special human being who will be sadly missed and never be forgotten. Rest in peace Santo.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in your grief.

When God was creating angles, he made Dr. Bucherri the Best of the Best!
I was privileged to be one of Seby's Judo teachers.
Santo was an inspiration with regard to how much he gave support to Seby as well as his other children. He was also very generous in helping my martial arts school that got me through a very difficult financially challenging period.
He was also my PCP. You can look at his picture here and see that his demeanor is so calming and reassuring when it came to helping me maintain my health.
I so looked forward to my physicals because it was an opportunity to be in the presence of this "angel" whose compassion touched me deeply, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well.
I really am at a loss as to who I have to find that can even come close to what Dr. Bucherri contributed to my life on many levels.
Rest in peace dear friend. You are sorely missed.

Trying to find the words has been unbearable, even today, my eyes swell with tears. There are no words to describe such a great loss... The care he provided to me and my family over 30 years will remain with me forever, and always with warmth in my heart.... sadly not only has this horrible virus taken him to soon, but also controlled us from being able to say good by..... with each passing day our pain will ease, our memories will strengthen, and when we think or speak of him, our thoughts and stories , will always be with a smile on our face and warmth in our hearts.... meanwhile, we must find strength in each other and remember how he would like us to continue our journey in life.... to his family at home and his office family, we all share in your great loss....we loved our "Dr Buck"....Agnes and Bob

My deepest sympathies to the family of Santo . Gone far too soon, and to say I will never again see his smiling eyes is so surreal. My husband and I are patients, but we were always treated with such ease and Santos's familiar way that no matter what, we felt assured that our health was his top priority. He is a true treasure to the medical profession and will be so sadly missed but never forgotten. Suzan and John Flynn

My deepest condolences to the Buccheri family.
I met Dr. Buccheri (Dr. B.) about 6 years ago when he became the Medical Director of Salmon Brook where I was a nurse. We shared a lot in common and became good friends: love for German Shepherds, (mine had died 6 months earlier) Italian heritage, and the love and devotion to family. I admired him and he became a mentor. He was a kind, compassionate, sensitive and loving doctor. His face lit up and he had a big smile when talking about his family and their many accomplishments. His love and pride of his children was so evident. His boys, Gunnar and Tanner were always beside him, either leading the way or trailing behind with leashes dragging. They were his pride and joy. When I went to Italy, he shared his tips for my trip and I texted him pictures when I reached the destination he said was so special to see. He always asked about my family, the triplets, to see how they were doing in school or work. He truly cared about everyone. We texted each other for every holiday and somehow he was always first getting out the greeting. I will truly miss him!
Rest in peace, you will never be forgotten my dear friend, but very deeply missed. May God help his family find comfort in remembering and cherishing all the good times they shared together.

I am so saddened by the news of Santo's passing. I know that God must need him for a special reason. It is far beyond me because the heart of Santo was so special here on Earth. I was honored to work beside him for 7 short years(actually behind him as I don't think there was anyone that could keep the pace Santo kept - well with the exception of the "boys" Gunner and Tanner). His humility in every day caring of his family, his patients, his staff was a gift to see. To remember his little old redToyota ( I think that is what it was) come into the office everyday with the 2 big Shepherds brings a smile and a tear to me. I have you all in my prayers during this time of grief. He loved you all so very much. God Bless you all.

We are so deeply saddened by the loss of Santo. He was such a warm, caring gentlemen and a truly great physician. When my mother was sick he helped us all through a very sad difficult time. Our father soon became one of his patients & once again we had Santo to learn on for support, superb care and much love. Since then Santo has helped my family on the loss of my sister & her husband. At present he was caring for my husband with all his knowledge and compassion. Knowing Santo was a privilege.. We are blessed to have had him in our life. Dr Buccheri, quiet as a breeze and stingy with rich words not even a full sentence, quicker than the fastest hundred yard dash he would respond to faxes with specific directions.
