Virginia Louise (Sbrocco) Coppola Obituary
Virginia Louise (Sbrocco) Coppola, beloved wife of the late Nicholas F. Coppola, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital. Born on May 1, 1927, in Hartford, CT, Virginia was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Sbrocco. Virginia grew up on Darien Street in Hartford, graduating from Weaver High School and Teachers College of Connecticut (now CCSU). She raised her family in Newington and West Hartford and more recently lived in Bloomfield. She was also predeceased by her sister Emma Buccheri of New Britain and Evans-ton, IL. Virginia is survived by her children; Michael of Rocky Hill, Susan Dugdale (George) of Windsor, Barbara Higgins (Patrick) of Windsor, Raymond (Patti) of Windsor and Nicholas of Bloomfield. Virginia had 12 grandchildren, Christopher and Kevin Dugdale; Patrick, Emma (McGlynn), Katherine and Haley Higgins; Nich-olas, Sarah, Amanda Coppola and Danielle Horan; Eileen and Matthew Coppola as well as her great granddaughter, Nora McGlynn. She is also survived by her cousin and childhood best friend, Helen Blaha of Westfield, MA as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmoth-er through the years, Virginia also found time to work in several different fields including teaching, jewelry and banking. Virginia enjoyed music and was an ac-complished pianist and vocalist. She was the happiest when surrounded by her family and will surely be missed by all. Relatives and friends may join the family on Saturday, July 14, 2018 between 10 AM to 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave, Bloomfield, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM. Burial will follow Mass at Mountain View Cemetery in Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to HARC, 900 Asylum Ave, Hartford, CT 06105.
