Warren Newcomb Obituary

Warren B. Newcomb, 76, of Langdon NH died suddenly Thursday, March 28, 2019, at his home. He was born in Malden, MA on April 24, 1942, the son of the late Wallace E. Newcomb and the late Anne G. (Chalker) Newcomb Perry. As a boy, he grew up on his family's farm "Hemlock Haven" located in Langdon, NH. He was the beloved husband of Reva A. (King) Newcomb for 56 years, and is survived by his three children; a son, Jonathan B. Newcomb of Manchester, CT. and two daughters, Lori A. Jacobsen and her husband Michael Jacobsen of Tolland, CT, and Victoria L. Newcomb-Tutty and her husband David Tutty of Manchester, CT. He has one sister, Nancy N. Peacock of Norwich, VT, and one brother, Phillip W. Newcomb of Alpine, WY, as well as 2 grandchildren, Christopher M. and Mackenzie A. Jacobsen, and several nieces and nephews.Warren graduated from Charlestown High, and then joined and served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic from 1962-1964. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft (United Technologies) in Middletown, CT where he was a foreman and had an exceptional career for 36 years. He lived and raised his family in Manchester, CT before retiring in1998 to spend time with his loving wife in his cherished childhood home in Langdon, NH and spend the winters in sunny Bushnell, FL.He was affectionately known as "Papa Bear", enjoyed bowling and played on a league for many years, loved to travel and go camping, was an avid reader of old western novels, loved John Wayne movies and Johnny Cash, he was a true puzzle "King". He was happiest taking in the breathtaking views from his front porch of Mount Monadnock and spending time with family and friend's playing cards, dice, and sharing that wonderful laugh of his!Warren was loved and will be missed by his many friends and family that reached through numerous states. May his spirit and our memories of him continue to guide us and forever be in our hearts. A memorial service will be held at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street in Charlestown, NH on Saturday, May 18th at 2PM. Visiting hours will be held from 1 to 2 prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at the Upper Langdon Cemetery.Donations in Warren's name are asked to be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.To view an online memorial or send a private message of condolence, visit www.stringerfh.com.

Learned of Warren's passing only days ago. We have lost another one of the truly good guys. I worked at Pratt with Warren, and his heart was as big as his laugh. He was very kind and good to me as he was to everyone. Those who worked with him had great respect for him. He will be remembered with smiles.
