I do not know your family, I happened to stumble upon this page when searching for something else. However, I felt a tugging at my heart to say something. I was born shortly after the loss of Michael, so I never knew a world before this horrible incident. It is strange hearing about an event I never witnessed, but finding things like this makes it much more real for me. I send my absolute condolences to your family and friends. This world is an incredibly difficult place, but we must trust God. I pray you all are doing well now, never forget but always keep looking ahead.

We do not know each other but my brother in law ( cobb) is buried right behind Michael, every year we go to see him.I plant a flower near Micheal's stone as a remembrance and a thank you for serving in the military..God bless you and your family

As I awakened this morning I gave thought of what today means, remembering those military and veterans we have lost. Immediately, I thought about all our midshipmen that past through our home and wondered how many would fit in that catalog. Sadly, Michael McGinty was our first to our knowledge and sadly not our last.
You were the very first Midshipmen for us to sponsor and you were a great first!
Our thoughts and prayers continue with your boy and sweet wife.

Michael, Thank you for your service from a fellow veteran. My battle was in Vietnam. I feel a loss for never having met you. I was raised less than two miles from where you lived in Foxboro, and still live just a few miles from your Foxboro home.

The love of all my family goes out to your cherished family; Cynthia, Daniel and David.

As life will have it, I will be your neighbor for all eternity at Rockhill.

I'll have your back, Bro! God Bless you, your family, loved ones and God Bless the USA!

To the McGinty Family on this hallowed day September 11, 2016: we have adopted your husband and father as a special soul to be remembered in our prayers. There is a special connection, because our own son's name is Michael G. McGinity. Although our last name has one extra "I" we understand it used to be McGinty.

May God wrap you in His comforting presence and bless your family forever.

All our respect,

Cindy~ I got up early on this anniversary day and it was gray and sad. My friend and I went to the cemetery where her Marine son is buried. we played "Amazing Grace" on our violins in honor of Mike and her son Bob, who took his life suffering from PTSD. I know your heart will not be whole again. But the love for you, the boys and Mike will always be complete. We love you.

Cindy,
I followed Mike from Bellevue JROTC into USNA, graduating the year behind him. He and Len Coulter were the first friendly faces I saw after Plebe Summer when they stopped by to say hello when the Brigade returned. I had lost contact with him after we graduated, and was saddened to hear of his loss. I still think of him and send my best wishes to you and your family.

As the Christmas season is here, my thoughts go out to you Cindy and the boys. I am reminded of Mikes Plebe year that he spent Chritmas with us in Maryland because he was unable to go home. What a joy to have him be a part of our family at a time we celebrate Jesus birth. Our sons considered him and our other midshipman brothers and sisters. Mike was one of the best ones.
Please know of our thoughts and prayers.

Marge and I had the pleasure of meeting Mike when he attended USNA. Mike was one of five mids that we sponsored from the class of 1981. They were our first class of graduates and we continued to be sponsers thru the class of 2004. Mike spent his plebe year Christmas with us.

Today we were watching the ceremonies at the WTC Memorial and were able to hear Mikes name read and Marge saw it on the Memorial later in the program.

We want you to know that you and your family continue to be in our prayers. We are proud of Mike for the for Godly the man he was, the family that he founded and the contribution he made to the freedom that we cherish so deeply.

Hello Mrs. McGinty and Sons,
Today we remember. I served with Mike on USS Shenandoah as his assistant, division officer and fellow SWO. It was his leadership and intelligence that impressed me the most. There were more days/nights than I can count that our division had to meet us on the ship's bridge to carry out the day/week business because our Captain entrusted us to play "tag" as OODs driving the ship. He was a good man, a fine officer, and one of the best with whom I have had the pleasure of serving in the US Navy. I see his smiling face as if it were yesterday. Boys, be very proud!

Hi Cindy, Daniel & David,

I know this day of the year must be the hardest for all of you, but know that it is felt amoung lots of others in this world. I know we haven't seen each other in a long time, but please know you are always in my thoughts and prayers throughout the year. I know that Mike has been watching over you and guiding you these last seven years and will continue to do that. The three of you were his world and you continue to keep his memory alive.

Yesterday, my husband, Mike's "mentee" from J&H days, Jeff, and I talked about how we remember Mike throughout the year, and not just because of the anniversary of 9/11. So, with that, I'm going to put on some Van Morrison and remember our honorable, humor-filled and loving friend. Cindy, you and the boys are always in our hearts...and prayers.

Dear Mrs. McGinty,
I am very sorry for your loss and will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. I was reading an article in the Country Gazette today and it mentioned how you would like to make 9/11 be a national day of volunteerism - I think that is a wonderful idea and a great way to remember those who perished on 9/11. I am a transplant from NY to MA - I knew several people who died in the WTC, 3 people from Marsh and 2 FDNY. I will make sure that I do something "good" for someone on 9/11. Once again, I am so sorry for your loss.

It has been three years and I miss Mike more than ever. I have worked very hard to take care of the boys. Kind words from friends and strangers have helped so much. Please never forget Mike.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike at Sedgwick, my first year out of college. Mike always made me feel comfortable and was very encouraging as a mentor. When he found out my then boyfriend, now husband, was a Marine, he never failed to tease me about the "Jarhead." Although my time at Sedgwick was short (I ended up marrying the Jarhead and moving away) I will always remember the wonderful working atmosphere that Mike provided through his professionalism and witty dry humor. Mrs. McGinty, you and your family are forever in my thoughts and prayers. I hope it helps you to know how many people cared for and respected Mike in his life and the personal impact he had on so many.

Our dear friends attend St. Mark's parish in Boise ID. Their pastor had cards printed - each with the name of a victim of 9/11. I was sent a card from there with your husband/dad's name. Your family will be in our constant prayer and Michael's name card has been added to the prayer board on our refrigerator. God's love and peace be with you, may the angels wrap their wings around you and keep you safe.

Cindy,

I graduated from Bellevue High School with Mike. I shared many classes with him. What I remember about Mike was that he was smart, he was in ROTC, he was fairly quiet, and he had a good sense of humor. He also had a wonderful smile. My heart goes out to you and your sons. This is such a tragic loss. I was the chairman of our high school class reunion this past July. We shared a moment of silence and a prayer to remember Mike.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Cindy and the boys.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike back in 1996 when he commuted 3 hours each way from Connecticut to NY for J&H. We always had such fun joking around. I remember the day that Mike left J&H just like it was yesterday. He hugged me and told me what a great job I had done and how much he enjoyed working with me. I have always missed him since that day and will continue to miss him every single day!

We are very sorry for your loss of Michael. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
