Troy G. GAMMIE Obituary
GAMMIE, Troy G. Troy G. Gammie, 24, of West Simsbury, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, (January 8, 2011) in Simsbury. Born April 4, 1986 in Hartford son of Leigh and Cynthia (Gosselin) Gammie of West Simsbury, he lived in West Simsbury for the majority of his life. Troy's affectionate smile, tender spirit, and happy go lucky personality were his defining character. Never to miss out on a good time you could count on Troy to bring "chuckles" to every event. On quiet days you would find Troy immersed in some novel that he could not put down until finished. Always quick to strike up a conversation on just about any topic, Troy would always impart a thought provoking response. The hiking trails in and around the McLean Game Refuge have been covered many a times by Troy and his friends; enjoying the simpler items, never over complicating those God given sights and sounds of everyday life. To paraphrase from the late Senator McLean "a place where some of the things God made may be seen by those who love them, as Troy loved them, and who may find in them the peace of mind and body that Troy had found." Troy graduated from Simsbury High School, he currently was employed by Fitzgerald Food's in Simsbury where his culinary creativities were enjoyed by many. We can honor Troy by showing the kindness and love that he displayed everyday, we will miss Troy deeply. Besides his parents he is survived by two brothers, Judd and Chad Gammie both of West Simsbury; his paternal grandmother, Carol Gammie of Danbury; his maternal grandmother, Florence Gosselin of Bloomfield; his aunts and uncles, Gregory and Rita Gosselin, David and Halina Gosselin, Beverly Gosselin, Steven and Deborah Scribner, Scott and Carol Dineen, David and Linda Hill, Florence Dimovski, Brian and Elizabeth Rich, Michael and Diane Giordanella, Matthew Gosselin, John and Susan Gammie; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Richard Gammie, his maternal grandfather, Roger Gosselin, and his uncle, Jeffrey Gosselin. His family will receive friends Tuesday, January 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Carmon of Avon Funeral Home, 301 Country Club Rd., Avon, CT. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 12, 3 p.m., at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 124 Old Farms Rd., Simsbury with Rev. Sean Martin officiating.
