SCHIAVO, Peter P.
Peter P. Schiavo, 95, of New Britain, died Monday (February 13, 2012) at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain and a life long resident, he was a machinist for various companies throughout his career. A member of the Varpas Club, he also belong to the Polka Dots, the Holy Spirit Church, loved to go camping and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his children Veronica and her husband James Liegeot of Altamont, NY, Peter and his wife Patricia Schiavo of New Britain, and Vernon Schiavo of New Britain; a step son Gary and his wife Jayne Cwikla of Southington; seven grandchildren James and Michael Liegeot, Peter and Kristopher Schiavo, Melissa Byrd, Vernon Schiavo and Laureen Cwikla; seven great grandchildren; a brother Julius Schiavo of Arizona and a sister Helen Dalto of Florida. Peter always felt it was a blessing to have two wives who predeceased him in death, Veronica (Osowiecki) Schaivo and Ann (Bozek) Schiavo, who died February 3, 2012.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:00 a.m. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church 183 Church St. Newington. Burial will follow St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Monsignor Bojnowski Manor c/o The Occupational Therapy Dept. 50 Pulaski St. New Britain, CT.
