BLOMSTRANN, Ruth Pittsinger

Ruth P. Blomstrann, 86, of Shelburne, VT, formerly of Enfield, CT, passed away at the Vermont Respite House in Williston, Vermont on May 5th in the company of her loving family. Born in Hartford, CT on December 21, 1925, Ruth was the daughter of Robert Sylvester Pittsinger and Louise (Emery) Pittsinger. On June 21, 1947, she married Robert Ernest Blomstrann and they enjoyed 54 years together until his death on November 28, 2001. In 2002, Ruth moved to Vermont to be closer to her daughter, Jan Blittersdorf, of Burlington, VT. After graduating from Newington High School where Ruth was a cheerleader and class officer, Ruth was a Sunday school teacher, avid swimmer and reader as well as proud homemaker for her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ruth is survived by her three children: son Richard and his wife Diane Blomstrann, son John and his wife Robin Blomstrann, and her daughter Jan Blomstrann Blittersdorf. She was proud of her eight grandchildren: Sara D'Addona, Erik Blomstrann and his wife Jennifer Blomstrann, Kristi Blomstrann, Bobby Blomstrann, Alyssa Blittersdorf, Evan Blittersdorf, Kate Blomstrann , and Haley Blomstrann. In addition, Ruth was blessed with a great-grandchild Emily D'Addona. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Pittsinger, her sisters-in-law Joan Pittsinger, Lois Blomstrann and Phoebe (Blomstrann) Lorenson and her husband Harold Lorenson. Ruth was predeceased by her brother, Richard Pittsinger, her brother-in-law Irving Blomstrann and her sisters-in-law Jo Pittsinger and Rachel (Blomstrann) Carlson and her husband Henry Carlson.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Thursday, May 10th at 10:30 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Advent, 81 East Main Street, Clinton, CT with a burial immediately following at the Indian River Cemetery, Clinton, CT. In lieu of flowers please send donations in memory of Ruth Blomstrann to the Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston VT 05495. The Swan Funeral Home, Clinton are in charge arrangements.
