AGRELLA, Martin Manuel
Martin Manuel Agrella, 58, of Germantown, MD died Sunday, (June 16, 2013). Born March 23, 1955, Martin spent some of his youth in New Britain and Southington, CT. He was predeceased by his mother, Emma Agrella. Martin leaves behind his wife, Joanne Agrella of Germantown, MD; daughter Lauren Embrey, her husband Randy and their two children Kaelin and Randy Jr. of Frederick, MD; son Nicholas Agrella and his son Tyler of Frederick, MD; daughter Kirsten Agrella of Frederick, MD; sister Carol Szulczewski and Mitchell Remkiewicz of Bristol, CT; sister Mary Tully, her two daughters Katherine and Allie of Burlington, CT; sister Deborah Agrella, her husband Robert Raupach of Farmington, CT; sister Laurie Reedstrom, her husband Brent and their two children Lydia and Gavin of Troy, OH; sister Victoria Frutchey, her husband Gary and their daughter Nicole of Bristol, CT; niece Dawn Benkert, her two children Dylan and Camryn of Bristol, CT; and his father, Manuel Agrella of Gaithersburg, MD. Martin was a chief foreman for Miller & Long Construction and a superintendant for Araujo Construction; he worked on many high-rise buildings in cities such as Baltimore, MD; Washington DC and Rockville, MD. He loved his family and loved spending time with his children. Martin enjoyed the outdoors especially the Outer Banks of North Carolina. An avid fisherman, he had great pleasure in teaching his children how to fish. He was also a master carpenter and took pride in completing many household renovation projects. He was a good, kind man and will be greatly missed by all.
There will be a memorial service in his honor at St. James Episcopal Church, 3 Mountain Rd., Farmington, CT on Sat., July 6, 2013, at 2 p.m., with burial immediately following the service at West Cemetery, 49 Pound St., Bristol, CT.

He was and always will be my brother in, Jook Lum Tong Leong Gwo Shu Goan, I started in, Connecticut, and ended in, Maryland. He was there at my banquet I've stayed at his home we competed together at tournaments. He was one of the greatest forms, Champion, that ever was. Other than, Grand Master Manuel R. Agrella, he was the greatest.

I watched Martin grow from the time he was a young teen until his late teens. It is with a sad heart that I read that he has passed. My condolences to his wife, children, and to his sisters.

I knew Martin since he was a kid in karate and he was a friend of my son, Albert, as well. My condolences go out to Martin's family and to his father, Manny, who was my karate instructor in the 1960's and 1970's.
