Michael J. Kiniry Obituary

Michael J. Kiniry, 76, of Bristol, husband of Rosanne (Roudie) Kiniry for 53 years, passed away surrounded by his family, Friday, January 17, 2014, from Pulmonary Fibrosis. Michael was born in New Britain, son of the late William P. and Mary K. (Budnick) Kiniry. He attended Saint Joesph Junior High in New Britain and New Britain Senior High School where he was a standout football player and track star. He went on to attend Wilbraham & Monson and Tufts University where he continued to play football. He then graduated from the Hartford Institute of Accounting. He was a member of the Army National Guard for six years. He was a member of the Bristol Elks Club, Lodge 1010 and Kiwanis where he loved to sell peanuts at parades. Michael went on to be a Corporate Account at The Barnes Group and was owner of Photo Factory in downtown Bristol where he made many friends. He was a member of St. Joesph Church in Bristol. He loved spending time with his family. Gatherings, Fourth of July parties, and spending time at home around the pool and cabana at Indian Trail. He was the original "American Picker." Tag sales, surplus stores, antiques and road side clean-outs were where he found treasures that others overlooked. His garage was where these "treasures" were kept. And he knew where every single thing was. If you needed something chances are he had it. Besides his wife Rosanne, he leaves a son Patrick M. Kiniry and his wife Alexandra of Farmington, daughter Kimberly K. Lynch and her husband Timothy of Farmington. A brother William P. Kiniry II and his wife Pamela of New Britain, four sisters, Eileen Stewart of New Britain, Patricia Bordiere, Kathleen Yuskis and her husband John, Rose Mary Kiniry-Luddy and her husband Thomas all of Kensington. He also leaves three grandsons, Griffin, Quincy and Mason Kiniry and a granddaughter Camren Kiniry. One aunt, Florence (Budnick) Zadrozny of New Britain and a sister-in-law Helen Lepore as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 22nd at The O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave, Forestville, CT. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10am to 12pm until the time of the service. Burial will be at St. Joesph's Cemetery, Bristol, CT at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Paul A. Lepore Memorial Scholarship, C/O St. Paul Catholic High School, 1001 Stafford Ave, Bristol, CT, 06010.
