Marjorie Hamlin Obituary
Marjorie (Young) Hamlin, 86 of Rocky Hill died, Friday March 27, 2015. She was formerly married to Colin F. Hamlin. She was born on November 23, 1928 in Lakewood, Ohio. "Marj" attended public school in Dallas, TX at Highland Park High School until 1946. On returning to Connecticut she attended the University of Bridgeport until marrying Colin F. Hamlin. She was employed by Aetna Life and Casualty for 18 years. She was the mother of Colin Michael Hamlin and his wife Gerri Almand of Tampa, FL., Dudley A. Hamlin and his wife Wendy of Mansfield Center and Carol M. Hamlin of Lumberton, NC., her grandchildren, Spencer, Haley and Hunter Hamlin, and Michael Vito Patrissi. The funeral Service will be Monday, March 30, 2015, 7 PM. with The Rev. John Rogers officiating at The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Suffield at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 5-8 PM. I met Marj about 3 years ago at The Tennis & Fitness Center in Rocky Hill. We had many interesting & fun chats there during that time. I'll always remember her enthusiasm when talking about her children & grandchildren. She loved them all greatly. As a true Red Sox, she lived all of their winning & loosing streaks.
I visited her several times at The Lodge where she proudly showed me her apt. & generously bought me lunch. I reciprocated by bringing her some of my homemade specialty baked goods.
I will remember her as a caring, involved & compassionate human being. We are all diminished by her loss.
