New Hartford - Gottfried Weingart, 97, of Richards Road, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Valerie Manor. He was the beloved husband of Lucille E. (Brown) Weingart. Mr. Weingart was born in Nennigkofen, Switzerland on May 16, 1918, son of the late John and Anna (Affolter) Weingart and had been a New Hartford resident for many years. He was the retired proprietor of Green Valley Farm, which he owned for over 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and all sports. Survivors in addition to his wife Lucille include: two sons, Jack R. Weingart and his partner Bert Lavertue of Windsor and David W. Weingart of New Hartford; one daughter, Barbara L. Palmer of Ocala, FL and faithful and devoted sons-in law Wayne Palmer of Ocala, FL and Joseph Barbieri of Torrington and Delray Beach, FL; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joyce M. Barbieri. Gottfried's family would like all to be aware that casual attire is acceptable and will be welcomed. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 4:00 P.M.to 6:00 P.M. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
