Margery P. Weed, aged 95, died peacefully Tuesday, July 12th. She lived in the Seabury Residences of Bloomfield. Margery leaves behind a son, Christopher, of West Hartford, two grandsons, Jeffrey of Bloomfield and Jonathan of Thousand Oaks, Calif. and her beloved extended family. Margery spent her life in service to the United Church of Christ, having been instrumental in the formation of the union that resulted in the UCC. She was once the moderator of the 1st Church of Christ, UCC in West Hartford, her home church for over 50 years, moderator of the Connecticut State UCC Synod, a delegate to the National UCC Synod, and was a member of the UCC Board of World Ministries, whom she represented in numerous trips around the world. Marge also worked at the UCC Conference Center at Silver Lake in Sharon, Conn. for 17 years where she guided Youth Conferences, being affectionately known as "Ma Weed." Marge was also a member and one time President of the Town and County Club in Hartford. A Memorial Celebration will be held at the 1st Church of Christ, 12 S. Main Street, West Hartford, Conn. on Sunday, July 24th at 3 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to the First Church of Christ Memorial Fund or the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.

Sometimes Marge was in charge...The Boss. Sometimes she was one of the gang. Sometimes she was the practical joker. Sometimes the instigator. But at all times she loved with all her heart. And is loved by all who know her. A great friend. Rest well my friend.
