Barbara Dryden-Masse Obituary

Rev. Barbara Dryden-Masse, 72, of Rocky Hill, a daughter of the late Dorothy (King) Kaczmarczyk and Al Dryden, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford. Barbara wove many years of experience and expertise as a certified hypnotist and gifted clairvoyant to offer programs and seminars to improve the quality of people's lives. Her devotion to the happiness of her clients was a hallmark of her life's work. One of her greatest joys was spreading the Love of God to people through the gift of prophesy. In 2015, Barbara received the prestigious Order of Braid Award from the National Guild of Hypnotists which recognizes a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication, and service. She served on the esteemed faculty of the National Guild for many years. An inspiring motivational speaker and seminar leader, she presented extensively on a variety of topics throughout the Country, including Atlanta's Body, Mind, Spirit Exposition and at Lily Dale Assembly, the largest Spiritualist Center in the world. Barbara's seminars and classes included creating prosperity and success, weight loss, development of extra-sensory perception and creating more love in your life. Barbara had her own popular weekly radio show, "Psychic Insights" and was a regular columnist in Connecticut's Door Opener Magazine. Other media accreditations included radio and television appearances in Connecticut and New York. She also served as a past Vice President of the First Spiritualist Church of Willimantic. Known for the accuracy of her insights and predictions, Barbara did in-person sessions throughout Connecticut as well as in the areas of Atlanta, GA, Lily Dale, NY, and Newport Beach, CA. Her extensive telephone consultation clientele spanned throughout the nation as well as in England. Previously, she worked as Office Manager and Bookkeeper for Charles F. Monzeglio, Inc., and its associated companies in Glastonbury. Barbara is survived by her two sisters, Gerry Boyle of Old Saybrook and Joann MacQuarrie of Great Barrington, MA; a brother, Thomas Kaczmarczyk Jr. of East Hartford; an aunt, Jacqueline King of South Windsor; her long-time friend and caregiver Betty Hughes of Virginia; and several cousins and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Kevin Boyle; two aunts, Betty Marchut and Shirley Blair; and two uncles, Joseph and William King. Funeral service will be Saturday (March 4, 2017) with a celebration of Barbara's life at 11:30 am at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Barbara's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday morning from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the funeral home chapel.
