Yolande J. Cyr

CYR, Yolande J. (Grenier) Yolande J. (Grenier) Cyr, 75, of Southington, widow of Leonel Grenier and Norman Cyr, died on Sunday, (June 3, 2007) peacefully at home in the care of her loving family. Mrs. Cyr was born in Spring Hill, Quebec, Canada, on July 14, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Odilon and Alexina (Rodrigue) Grenier. She resided in Bristol from 1951 until moving to Southington in 1987, and she was employed at Johnson & Johnson before retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol, where she was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann Society. Mrs. Cyr is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Ronald and Carol Grenier of Bristol, and Major Gregory Cyr, US Army, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four daughters and sons in law, Carole and Donald Levesque of Bristol, Kathleen and Dennis Sirianni of Bristol, Joan and David Nathan of Las Vegas, NV and Patricia and Robert Sirois, of Bristol; two brothers, Conrad Grenier of Canada, and Norman Grenier of California; three sisters Germaine Belair, Annette Jacques, and Therese Gaudette, all of Canada; ten grandchildren, SSGT Nicole Rice, USAF, and her husband, TSGT David Rice, USAF, of Colorado Springs, CO, Jennifer Welch and her husband, Erik, of Ellington, Amy and Amanda Grenier, Jason and Jennifer Sirianni, Madison Sirois all of Bristol, Keith and Samantha Nathan of Las Vegas, NV, and Schyler Cyr of Colorado Springs, CO; a great grandchild due in July; and several sisters in law and brothers in law, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Fernand and Lionel Grenier and a sister Agathe Corbeil. She says a loving farewell to her special friends, Doris Soucy, Therese Rouillard, Terry Lupien, and Gerry Rouillard. She took great pride in her gardening and loved to knit and sew for her grandchildren. She had risen through many hardships in her life and her family always came first. Mom was the shining gold thread that held us all together close to her heart. We will miss you very much, Mom. Funeral services will be held on Thursday (June 7, 2007) at 9 a.m from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Ann Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
