Ione Lee Obituary
Mrs. Ione Lee

Mrs. Ione Lee left to meet her Lord and family on September 11, 2012.

She was a lifelong resident of Carnes, Mississippi.

Ione was predeceased by her parents, William and Leona Havard, her husband Nathan R. Lee, her son Dale Allen Lee and her grandson Joseph Cospelich, her sisters Thelma Morris, Merley Landrum, Lessie Simmons, Wilma Hoadley (MiMi) and her brother Nolan Havard.

She is survived by her son, Freddy Lee, wife Sheron from Hammond La., daughters Diane Byxbe from Pigeon Forge, TN, Barbara Horne and husband Jerry from Carnes, and Deborah Clements of Dixie. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.

Ione was an employee of the Post Office at Camp Shelby during WWII. She was employed by Movie Star for 20 years. She provided love and care for her children and grandchildren in her home whenever needed, she never retired from that position.

Ione provided an atmosphere in her home where people loved to gather for friendship, stories, love and food. The things she enjoyed most were the times she spent with her grandchildren, entering the Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes and waiting for that "check". The comfort and safety of her home and the best biscuits in Forrest County will always have a special place in our hearts. We learned many things taking care of our mom during her final days: Never take anything for granted, true appreciation of the quote, "a house is made of brick and stone but a home is made of love alone".

A special thanks to Maxine and Liz of Forrest General Hospice and Jan Baggett who helped our mother remain close to us on her journey home.

Services will be 2:00pm Friday, September 14, 2012 at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins with visitation from 12:00PM to service time at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Lee-Mill Creek Cemetery in Carnes.

Moore Funeral Service, Wiggins is in charge of arrangements.
