Jerry Garland Nobles, Sumrall, MS was born October 14, 1931, and went Home June 15, 2014.

He is survived by daughters, Suzanne (Mike) Shumock of Kentwood, LA and Sandra (George) Seeling of Destin, FL; son, Kyle Nobles of Orange Beach, AL.; grandchildren, Leslie (Ricky) Owens of Flora, Cory Shumock of Sumrall, Clay Nobles and Andrew Nobles of Hattiesburg, MS. Also survived by one brother, Herbert Ray (Betty) Nobles of Petal.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Herrington Nobles; parents, Otis and Della Nobles; brothers, Percy Nobles and L B Nobles and sister, Eunice Dickerson.

Jerry graduated from Sumrall High School before serving his county in the U S Army in South Korea. After returning from the Korean War, he attended Pearl River Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. He taught and coached at Forrest County AHS until he earned his Master's Degree in Administration and began serving as a principal. As a principal, he led schools in Greene, Perry, Pearl River, Lamar, Jackson, and Wayne counties. After 30 years as a teacher and administrator, Jerry retired to his farm in Lamar County where he loved planting a garden that was admired by all and making cane syrup that was always better than last year's.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Midway Baptist Church, Sumrall, MS with burial to follow in the Midway Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lamar County /, 332 Lowery Rd, Sumrall, MS, 39482 or Gideons International.
