Jan Frederick Fletcher, age 74, of Campbellsburg, passed away on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at Baptist Health in La Grange. He was born on Oct. 21, 1943, in Richmond, Ind., to the late Frederick and Margaret Stubbins Fletcher. Jan graduated from Waggoner High School in Louisville. After high school he attended Western Kentucky University. Jan worked for Standard Oil for many years in several different capacities. He also served his Campbellsburg community as former mayor and as present city councilman. After retiring Jan enjoyed driving cars for several local car dealerships. Cars and boats were his passion. A day on the river was his dream day.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Melodye James Fletcher of Campbellsburg; mother-in-law, Lois James of Campbellsburg; his sons, Michael Frederick Fletcher and his wife Angela and Jan Martin Fletcher, all of Middletown; grandchildren, Griffin and Rylie Fletcher; nephews, Scotty Kypfer and his wife Michelle Heath Kypfer all of Crestview, Fla.; and a host of family and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
Jan is preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Jane Kypfer, and her husband Leonard Kypfer; and his father-in-law, Malcolm James.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Campbellsburg Baptist Church with Reverend Shawn Golden officiating the service. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. also at Campbellsburg Baptist Church.
Jan's wishes were followed, he was donated to the UofL Body Bequeathal Program.
Memorial donations may be made to the Campbellsburg Baptist Church. Envelopes will be made available by the funeral home at the church.
