R.I.P. Raul Tomas Casares of Caibarien, Cuba Passed away Friday December 2, 2016 in Miami, FL. Having received the Last Rights Raul was the founder and president of R.C. Aluminum Industries, Inc., one of the largest window and aluminum manufacturing companies in the Southeastern US providing windows, sliding glass doors, and glass railings to luxury high rise condominiums like the Trump Towers in Sunny Isles, Aqualina Resort, Bristol Towers, the Apogee and Portofino Towers on South Beach, the St. Regis in Bal Harbour, and countless more buildings along Brickell Avenue. He also supplied numerous commercial venues like the American Airlines Arena and the Regal 18 Cinema on Lincoln Road. As the creator of impact glass, Raul was a pioneer in his field, transforming the definition of hurricane windows in South Florida. To see the fruits of his labor, look no further than the Miami skyline. Raul was the embodiment of the American Dream and truly lived life to the fullest. He came to the United States as a teenager to earn money for his family in Cuba. While at Jackson High, he started in the window business at the ripe old age of 14. On one of his frequent trips home, he met his wife of 40 years, the former Nancy Martin, and together, they raised three daughters while simultaneously building a window empire. He had a true joie de vivre and loved everything from listening to classical music to fishing and playing dominos and poker with friends. Later in high life, he was in his element having late night meals at Prime 112 on any given weekday just because he could. Most happy being surrounded by his family and friends, he never lacked for having a wonderful time. Raul was full of generosity and was constantly the life of the party. He will be missed. A Mass will be celebrated to honor his eternal rest, on Tuesday December 6, 2016, at 1:30pm at St. Augustine Catholic Church located at 1400 Miller Rd., Miami. This will be immediately followed by a funeral procession to Caballero Rivero Woodlawn North Cemetery located at 3260 SW 8 Street, Miami. He is survived by his loving and devoted daughters Nancy Vias, Ingrid Casares and Luly Casares (Kim Feinberg) and his grandchildren Alex Vias, Daniela Vias , Nico Casares and Ellie Casares-Feinberg, as well as his two sisters, Lydia Calzadilla and Ada Leary, and a niece and nephew.
