SCHERER, STAN, of blessed memory, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the age of 82. Stan was the beloved husband of Joy Scherer; loving father to David (Jinny), April and Norman (Diana Paver); and a dear grandfather, "Pop-Pop", to Michelle, Meagan (Vlad), Victoria and Sam. Stan was born to Julia and Moe Scherer in Bronx, New York and is survived by his siblings, Robert (Jane) and Nancy. Stan served his country in the Navy and was a proud Jewish War Veteran. He was an avid fisherman, enthusiastic sports fan and enjoyed his days as a member of the Matheson Hammock, Black Point and Homestead Yacht Club. Stan's greatest joy was his family and his wife, Joy, was his world. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 4th at Temple Emanu-El (151 McIntosh Road, Sarasota, FL 34232) at 11 AM. The family wishes to thank Tidewell Ellenton Hospice House for their exceptional and compassionate care.
