BERMAN, SYDELL 1933-2017 Berman, Sydell, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children and her devoted caregiver, Juana Pereira, on November 26, 2017. Devoted mother of Neil Berman of Coral Gables and Robin Angel of Altamonte Springs, FL. She was the loving grandmother to Corey Berman, Dylan (Erika) Baklor, Seth Baklor and great grandmother to Luke Baklor. Sydell was born on July 21, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to Rose and Nathan Namoff. As a family they moved to Miami when Sydell was 3. She is predeceased by her siblings, Leon (surviving sister-in-law, Anne), Mildred (Bob), and her surviving sister, Bernice (Kenny). Sydell recently suffered the loss of David, her sweet husband of 62 years. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved deeply. The Berman's enjoyed an extended family of friends, better known as the Westchester gang. One of her favorite pastimes was traveling with family and friends. Sydell and her sister Bernice were inseparable; whether working together at Allied, exercising, or the daily phone calls which they relished. Sydell looked forward to Lunch Bunch get togethers. Sydell bravely fought the horrible illness of Alzheimer's for over fifteen years. She had been the head of the family. There is an emptiness that will forever be felt with her loss. Graveside service 2 PM, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, 5900 SW 77th Avenue, Miami, Florida. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association at
