HILL, LORAINE KESSLER, 87, died on Tuesday August 1st of injuries from a car accident. Loraine and her family came to Miami in 1958 and she spent the last 30+ years on Brickell in Miami, FL. Born and raised in Arlington, MA, she graduated from Arlington HS in 1948 and attended the RI School of Design. After graduating in 1952 with a degree in Textile Design, she moved to NYC where she met and married Alfred Kessler, a general contractor and developer in 1955. Their young family moved to Miami in 1958, where she would spend the rest of her life. After her divorce from Al, she worked many years as a high school guidance counselor in Broward County, FL. Always up for a challenge, Loraine attended Yale University graduating 1986 with an MBA and began a career as a certified financial planner. After 40 years on her own, Loraine re-united with John Hill, an old friend from Arlington, MA. They were married in 2011 and remained in Miami. She is survived by her husband, John Hill and her four sons: Dr. Alex Kessler of Ridgewood, NJ: William Kessler of Atlanta, GA: Matthew Kessler of Boca Raton, FL and Paul Kessler of Boynton Beach, FL; her brother David Tucker of Revere, MA; four nieces and nephews and 8 grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 am Thursday August 17th at St Hugh Catholic Church 3460 Royal Road, Coconut Grove, FL. Interment in the Hill Family plot at the Mt Pleasant Cemetery, 70 Medford Street, Arlington, MA will take place in early September.
