Christina Keefer Flynn
Christina Flynn passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. She was born in Klamath Falls, OR, to Irish immigrant Richard (Dick) Flynn and Virginia-born Regina Fogg Flynn, both of whom preceded her into eternal life.
Christina was raised on the family farm in Tulelake, CA. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and furthered her education at San Jose State University in San Jose, CA. There she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business and a Master of Arts in Business Education as well as teaching credentials and pupil personnel and administrative life diploma credentials. While in college she was president of Pi Omega Pi, National Business Education Honorary.
Her first teaching position was at Campbell Union High School near San Jose where she taught business subjects for five years. The sixth year was at Cubberly High School in Palo Alto. During the 1960's she was Dean of Girls at Campbell High School. Christina was also the first Dean of Women at Skyline College in San Bruno.
When she returned to the Klamath Falls area, she spent fourteen years at Henley High School where she taught keyboarding, personal finance, economics, federal and state government and coordinated the work experience program. She enjoyed the association of her students and colleagues.
Her other activities included membership in the American Association of University Woman, California, Oregon Teachers Associations, the National Education Association, and Retired Educators. She was also a member of the Saint Augustine's Church in Merrill and later a member of St. Pius X church in Klamath Falls and the Assistance League of Klamath Basin.
Over her lifetime she was employed at various financial institutions and law offices. She owned and operated the Log Cabin Antiques Shop on Highway 97 N for several years before returning to her educational career at Henley High School.
Survivors include her daughters Tami Hurst, Chesterfield, VA and Catherine Matarazzo, Ontario, Canada. Grandchildren Alysha Matarazzo, Ontario Canada, Anthony Matarazzo, Vancouver BC, Daimion Hurst, Chesterfield, VA, Chelise Hurst, Loraine, OH, Kieren Hurst, Lakewood, CO, great-grandchildren, her sister Richann Flynn, Tulelake, CA, cousins Patricia Flynn-Heeter, Prineville, OR, and Roger Flynn, Scottsdale, AZ.
Christina was preceded in death by her brother Richard Flynn, Santa Rosa, CA and cousins Fields Flynn, Lakeview, OR, Noel Flynn, Lake Oswego, OR, Millis Flynn Wilsonville, OR, and Larry Flynn, West Linn, OR.
Her interests and pleasures included her family, dear friends, gardening, antiquing, classical music, gourmet foods and jujitsu, which she commenced in her retirement years.
Christina's service and celebration of life will be held at Holy Cross Church Tulelake, CA , Saturday November 8, 2025. Rosary at 10:00 followed by Mass and gathering in the social hall.
