David John Hollinger

1942 - 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David John Hollinger, who died peacefully on April 6, 2025, at Partners in Care in Bend, Oregon. He was 82 years old.

Dave was born on June 30, 1942, in Hutchinson, Kansas. Over the years, he became a beloved member of the Klamath Falls community, where he worked as a barber for 38 years. Earlier in life, he was also a skilled meat cutter.

Dave was known for his straightforward nature and love of simple pleasures. He enjoyed buying guns, making daily trips to the Chevron for his favorite Coke, and relaxing at home with a show on his 85" TV during the winter. He was also known for shoveling snow for his neighbors - four wheeler and all - always eager to help others whenever he could.

He proudly served in the United States Army at Fort Lewis, Wash., and was a Vietnam veteran. In Klamath Falls, Dave remained active in the community as a board member of the VFW. He frequently helped with bingo nights and volunteered at fundraising events, especially enjoying the chance to support fellow veterans.

Dave's life was grounded in family. He shared his life with his wife, Viola "Boots" Hollinger, and was a father to Cindy, Tim and Dawn. He was also a part of a blended family that included his step-children Jerry, Tim, Terry, Sherry and Jim. His sense of humor, strong will and steady presence will be remembered by all who knew him.

Graveside service will be July 3, 2025, 1PM at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Oregon. Full military honors will be provided through Veterans Services.
