Gail Zimmerman Yepez Obituary
Gail Zimmerman Yepez, 70, passed away at her home on July 28, 2018 surrounded by her children, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Klamath Falls, Ore., to Fay and Jerry Zimmerman. She moved shortly after graduating from Klamath Union High School to Los Angeles, where she eventually went on to a devoted and successful 27-year career at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, Calif. She worked on a variety of projects, most notably as a Program Manager supporting AIRS (Atmospheric Infrared Sounder), KidSAT, among other groundbreaking projects, supporting space shuttle missions on both Challenger and Atlantis.

After retiring from JPL, she moved back to Klamath Falls to be closer to family. She enjoyed traveling; theater and musical live performances; arts and crafts; gardens and gardening; and researching, documenting and sharing family ancestry information. She will be remembered for making every gathering a special event and her zest for life.

She is survived by her mother, Fay Zimmerman, of Klamath Falls; children, Cindy Yepez-Block, of Boise, Idaho, Jana Yepez of Klamath Falls, and James Yepez, of Houston, Texa; her sisters, Mervilyn Penwell of Seattle, Wash., and Terry Zimmerman of Klamath Falls; her niece, Mariah Woodfork, of Portland, Ore. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald "Buzz" Zimmerman, in 1993.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Lookout, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so, may send contributions to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or the High Desert Hospice of Klamath Falls, Ore.
