Gilbert Moty Obituary
He was born on July 11, 1915, in Dawson, N.M., to Kasper and Marie Moty.
He married his wife Madeline on Nov. 25, 1937, in Notre Dame, Ind.
Gilbert moved from Bend, Ore., to the Klamath Basin in 1962. He was owner of Moty & Van Dyke, an auto parts dealership, and active for many years in the Oregon Automotive Wholesalers Association.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, active in community life, a member of the City of Klamath Falls budget committee for 25 years and chairman for two years, and a member of Reames Golf & Country Club, serving as president for two years.
Among his interests were golf and more golf, Notre Dame football, and his extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kasper and Marie Moty, brothers Norman and George Moty, wife Madeline Moty and daughters Mary Pat Moty and Jane Moty Floyd.
Survivors include his daughter Anne Hartnett of Klamath Falls; five grandchildren Andrew Hartnett of Klamath Falls, Gil Hartnett of Bend, James and Michael Hoffman of Oregon City, Ore., and Sarah Johnson of Grants Pass, Ore.; three great-grandchildren Mae, Garrett and Eva Johnson of Grants Pass; numerous nieces and nephews, including Mary Beth Hedlund of Klamath Falls; and special friend Karen McKinny of Klamath Falls.
Memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to the church.

Anne and family, Gil was a wonderful friend to our family and my sister, Barbara. He was always there for us and was such great human being. He will be missed. God bless you in your time of sorrow.

Annie & family---sorry to hear about Gil's passing. He was one of the last of the old small business men that were the heart of Klamath for many years. I enjoyed many fun rounds of golf with Gil & my dad and loved to listen to them tell stories. He was a true gentleman. My best wishes.
