Kathryn Ann Riggs Morgan

1956 - 2025

Kathryn "Kathy" Riggs Morgan passed away peacefully May 8, 2025, due to complications from end-stage renal disease. Born in Klamath Falls on Nov. 26, 1956, to Robert and Marilyn Riggs, Kathy attended Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from KUHS in 1975. She played tennis and powderpuff football for KU. As a member of Camp Fire, Kathy worked as camp counselor and lifeguard for Camp Ka-Est-A. Lake of the Woods was a special part of her childhood spending each summer at the lake enjoying water-skiing, bonfires, and the outdoors.

Kathy's greatest gift and pride were her two sons, Joshua and Thomas Pitts. They in turn gave her two beautiful daughters-in-law, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the fun "big sister" to Erin and Amy, paving the way through fashion and music of the 70's.

Kathy was an incredibly gifted seamstress making most of her own clothes in high school and more recently was well-known in the beading community for her intricate design and creations of jewelry and commissioned regalia pieces. She wrote and published a book on beading.

She spent her last 12 years living in the Rogue Valley area enjoying going to the beach, hitting estate sales and loving her fur babies.

She is survived by her sons Joshua (Amanda) of Whidbey Island, WA, Thomas (Bethany) of Bella Vista, AR; sisters Erin (Kevin) Henry of Scottsdale, AZ and Amy Riggs, of Wilsonville, OR, grandchildren Abigail (Zack) Reynolds, Zachary, Brandon and Hayden Pitts; Gabe Townsend, Lucas, Justus and Coniah Pitts; great grandchildren Briar and Rory Reynolds; nieces Katelyn Henry and Megan Rich, of Phoenix AZ. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and husband Richard Morgan.
