Tito Joseph "TJ" Mena of Yuba City, Calif., a prior resident of Colusa, Redding, and Healdsburg, Calif., passed away at U.C. Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, Calif., on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at the age of 54.
Tito was born on April 18, 1958, in San Francisco, Calif., and was a graduate of Cardinal Newman High School class of 1976.
He was owner operator of TJ Mena Trucking for the past 18 years, running the I-5 corridor much of that time sub-hauling for Power Transport of Spokane, Wash. Prior to that, he farmed in Bonanza and Swan Lake, Ore., and was a warehouseman for Rosterolla Distributing Co. for 13 years in Klamath Falls, Ore.
Tito enjoyed fishing, boating, wine tasting and music. He was a faithful Oakland Raiders and San Francisco Giants fan. He will always be remembered for his love of family, hard work, and his constant smile.
Survivors include Rachel Betke Mena of Yuba City, his wife of eight years; daughter Crystal DeMarco (Spencer) of Redding; parents Mateo and Georgeanna Mena of Colusa; brothers Fred Mena of Colusa and Don Mena (Paula) of Plumas Lake, Calif.; and grandchildren Zachary, Felicity and Matthew.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
